Career Technical Education
Career and Technical Education prepares students for a wide range of careers. These careers require varying levels of education, from high school and post-secondary certificates to two and four year college degrees. Sierra Linda currently offers classes in the following.
Culinary Arts
In the culinary arts classes, students successfully completing this program will be prepared to apply technical knowledge and skills required for food production and service occupations in institutional and commercial food establishments. Skills developed in this program include food identification, selection, and storage; safety and sanitation; personal hygiene; and use of commercial equipment. We will also address nutrition, special diets, and management of food establishments. Careers in the culinary arts include: apprentice chef, pastry chef, prep cook, executive chef, and food & beverage manager.

- 9th grade: Word Processing and Career Exploration
- 10-12th grade: Introduction to Culinary Arts

- 12th grade: CTE Internship
Medical Foundations
This course covers a combination of classroom lectures, laboratory situations, and internships with the local high school sports teams, local hospitals, doctors, and professional sports teams. This course allows students to gain valuable experience in real world situations that face all medical professions on a daily basis.
