Fashion Class Projects

Sierra Linda's fashion classes and early childhood education classes, both part of our CTE program, had their star event presentations this week. Students presented a variety of projects to administration and judges. Our students did an amazing job completing these projects and we could not be more proud!

Culinary Interviews

Sierra Linda's Career Technical Education (CTE) program has had an eventful semester thus far! Our culinary students participated in mock interviews, where they met with different professionals across campus to be interviewed as a means to practice their resume writing and job interview skills. Students met with teachers, administrators, counselors, and others in order to apply for a pretend job, but more importantly, to get feedback about their interviewing skills. This is a valuable life skill for all, and our students and staff did wonderful!

Sierra Linda Future Business Leaders of America

The Sierra Linda Future Business Leaders of America class recently participated in the FBLA Regional Leadership Conference at ASU Polytech. Our students received three medals!

  • Patrick Taylor and Fredy Contreras - Second Place: Emerging Business Issues
  • Josue Salazar - Third Place: Introduction to FBLA
  • Josue Salazar - Third Place: Introduction to Informational Technology

We are so proud of our students and their achievements! Keep up the great work! The FBLA team is now preparing for the state leadership conference in April.

Stand Up, Speak Up, Save A Life

On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 15 Sierra Linda High School students, along with Mrs. Vaughan and Mrs. Luchsinger, attended the “Stand Up, Speak Up, Save a Life” conference held at Grand Canyon University. Together with over 4,000 other students, parents, teachers, police officers, and government officials, the students learned ways to tackle bullying, depression, drug addiction, mental health, and other ongoing issues facing our youth. Following the conference, students brought their ideas into Sierra Linda and encouraged their peers to #CareEnough.

Freeway Closures

Please check out the latest ADOT construction update on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway. The document lists planned 1-10 (Papago Freeway) closures beginning January 26, running through mid-March. It is important to us here at Sierra Linda that your students are able to make it to school on time. Knowing of freeway closures in advance will help your family make decisions about transportation in order to ensure that your child is able to make it to school.
